Last year a Chipco rep was a guest speaker at one of our Colorado chapter meetings. He said Texas Instruments had developed a tiny transmitter that had been successfully imbedded into a Chipco chip. Apparently they have been trying to do this for a couple years, but had been having problems with the transmitter surviving the heat involve in the manufacturing of the chip. That problem was supposedly solved. The added cost to the manufacture of the chip was supposed to be under two dollars per chip if I remember right.
