I don't know if the thought is an original one, but I wanted to ask for
opinions (and perhaps support) regarding the establishment of a
permanent/perpetual trophy for the Annual CC>CC Poker Tournaments. What
comes to mind is an empty, good quality chip carousel with the Club's logo
affixed. The carousel, over time, will become filled with signed chips
from past tournament winners. I alreay have a set of the NCV chips used at
the Orleans (the 1st tournament) and a set from last year. We could get
Tony (the 1st year's winner) to sign the Orleans set and I will sign last
year's set, and they will be put into the carousel. The Club (or maybe
a sponsor can provide a chip set from this year's (and perhaps
out years), which will be signed by this year's winner and added to the
carousel. The carousel then becomes the perpetual trophy (like the Stanley Cup) and each year it will
reside with the winner. At the conclusion of the tournament (or during a
ceremony on the Convention floor) the trophy will be awarded (separate from
the money award) to the winner.

The trophy could also be named, either now, or at a later date. Either in
memory of a chipper, all chippers, or a sponsor, or ?. A naming contest can be
conducted. Etc., etc., etc. A smaller trophy or certificate will remain with the winner, while the perpetual trophy gets passed on to the next winner for a year.

Comments?

BTW - I sure would like to sign the Covington chips for this year's event! Gene, Dick, good job!
