I understand what you are saying Bob; and trust me, I do know the difference between domestic first class mail and overseas (foreign) mail.

I used to prepare and send out the club magazine mailings when the club was not as large as it is today and when the former printer of our magazine was located here in New Jersey. Anything that did not have a Zip Code had to be treated separately. Even mail to next door neighbors Canada and Mexico had to be mailed separately. All foreign mail was in that third set of labels that I had mentioned in my earlier post. This group of mail had to be presented to the post office window clerk for processing and handling and was not included in any of the bulk 3rd class or 1st class mailings. My point being; once it was handed to the window clerk and he/she affixed the appropriate postage... there was nothing else the club could do to get it to its final destination any quicker.... short of going the more expensive overnight route that you have suggested.

Problems that existed then, evidently still have not been resolved... through no fault of Jim Steffner. I sympathize with your plight. I know that foreign memberships are higher than those for memberships within the United States.... primarily because of the increased postage costs. I don't know what the shipping fee of today's magazines would cost to send overseas. They are considerably larger (heavier) than when Brenda and I were preparing the club mailings on our living room floor and kitchen table. I just weighed the current magazine and it is 16.1 ounces, not including the envelope and minus a few ballot inserts that I have removed and have already sent in.
