In 1999 when I was playing (as usual) at Harrahs in their tiny card room, the rumors were rife that it would close. I brought up the same point--that we modest players brought friends and relatives to the hotel and that far from being a loss leader, we were earning lots of money at table games and slots. The brush's answer was to the effect that he wished I would make the argument to the suits. Although I will stay this year at Harrah's (made my reservations before learning that the room would close) I'm going elsewhere hereafter. And lets just see if they can survive without my daily $250 gambling budget.
