New H&C mold + 4 levels of security!

This post is for Covington, Knapp and other Chipology nuts (like me grin) -----

I think I've found a H&C mold variety that hasn't been mentioned before; at least I haven't seen it in print.

Chip #6 in the attached graphic is a 48mm Paulson chip -- even bigger than the 44mm oversize chips used for Baccarat (as in chip #5). Unlike the "Inverted H&C" mold used on the 44mm chips, the mold on the $5000 chip has large [giant?] size hat&canes in the usual (non-inverted) orientation. Interestingly, of the 8 h&c's, 7 of them are the usual left-tip canes, and 1 of them is a right-tip cane. [Left tip simply means the tip of the cane is on the left side of the hat brim.]

I've tentatively titled this mold "Giant H&C". If it has another name, or you have a better suggestion for a name, please LMK.

It's likely that this is the standard mold used on 48mm chips. I just don't play at the levels that use such chips! vbg

For newer ChipBoard readers, I've shown 6 different varieties of H&C molds. This isn't all of them. There's also C&J shiny hat&canes; LCV (long cane variety) and perhaps some others I'm leaving out.

On another subject, the $1000 and $5000 chips shown here (along with the $500 - not shown) have 4 levels of security devises manufactured into the chip, in addition to the proprietary base color, insert colors/shapes and mold patterns:
a. Paulson microdot, beneath the "n" in Casino, on both chips
b. Serial numbered, on both sides, beneath the microdot
c. Plastic "window" running through the rim of each chip
d. Ultraviolet "PAULSON" near the center of each chip (visible with a black light).

Wonder what the production cost is on these chips??
