The chipper and his wife that told the story are club/LV chapter members and are retired professional people. They collect NV obsoletes and take their collecting seriously. They are serious buyers and very nice people. They had also signed up for the "List" at the January LV chapter meeting.

"We were at the PS show and talking to a dealer we have purchased from before. He said he had an El Rancho Vegas chip we had been looking for. (The chip is in the "Official" book at $400/$800/$1,200.) We were elated and I told him, lets see it. The dealer replied, I will have to send it to you as it has been sent out to be slabbed. I looked him in the eye and said NO THANKS, I AM NO LONGER INTERESTED.
