I don't know if you know the history of the Colorado chapter or not, but here is a brief chronology.

The CCC was formed in 1992, before the CCGTCC had chapters. The CCGTCC asked the CCC if we wanted to become the first chapter of the CCGTCC. At that time, there were no bylaws set forth by the CCGTCC concerning chapter member requirements as far as being a member of the CCGTCC. We did become the first chapter.

The next phase I'm not sure of, as to how long it took to happen. The CCGTCC BOD added bylaws to the the constitution requiring chapter members to be members of the CCGTCC. Nearest I've been able peg down on a time frame is about two years after the CCC became a CCGTCC chapter. Given that some of our founding members weren't CCGTCC members, and they didn't see any benefit from joining the CCGTCC, the CCC never has enforced that requirement. Some of those non-CCGTCC founding members are still in the CCC.

In 1999, our chapter charter was revoked by the CCGTCC for non-compliance with the CCGTCC bylaws. That didn't keep us from holding our regular monthly meetings. That didn't stop us from collecting. That didn't stop us from enjoying the hobby with our friends. That's what this hobby is about to me.

During the business meeting at last year's convention, the CCGTCC removed the bylaws requiring CCGTCC membership as a condition of chapter membership, and our charter was reinstated.

No matter the outcome of the amendment vote, we'll remain the CCC. We'll still have our monthly meetings, we'll still collect, and we'll still continue to grow our circle of friendships.
