Re: Chip Answer
In Response To: Chip Question ()

Russell; I have no comment about the "Official" book that does not list this rare chip. You may want to check around for information on a more specialized catalog if you are planning to collect Atlantic City chips and tokens.

Yes, as Don Lueders has posted, these are VERY rare Atlantic City chips that do not come up for sale very often. I agree with Don, that it is extremely rare that three of them are offered on ebay. It will probably have an effect on estimating values for this chip in future issues of Atlantic City chip catalogs. It will be interesting to watch the final hammer price as no one knows what reserve the seller has on these pieces. I only wish that there was some way to get more folks involved in the bidding process rather than to leave it up to the sniping experts. Many times, more bidding would be encouraged if the clock hadn't run out... such as what happens often on ebay. The seller would have done much better (in my opinion) if he had joined the club and put one of these chips up for sale in the club auction. I know there would be strong competition from those who are not on-line or who don't regularly follow ebay auctions. In fact, if one were to do a search under "Atantic City chips" these three lots would fail to appear.
