Letter to the Editor "Overlooked"

I submitted a "Letter to the Editor" for inclusion in the current magazine which since it was submitted so early before deadline it was most likely forgotten about: An honest oversight.

Well although the message won't be seen by the readers, I will post it here and on the Club BB.
------------------------------------------------
Dear Editor,

"SHOULD ALL CHAPTER MEMBERS BE MEMBERS OF CC>CC?"

At the last convention, the Board of Directors, rightfully fulfilled
their duty by amending the bylaws regarding the allowing of chapters to
allow non-members of the CC>CC to be members of a chapter.

While I, understand the Board's reasoning for changing the bylaws in
this regard I cannot as a member of CC>CC concur with with that
decision. There have been many discussions on the OFFICIAL CLUB ONLINE
BULLETIN BOARD in response to this decision, which I shall not go into
any detail of here.

I have submitted a Constitutional amendment to our President David
Searles, which will allow the entire membership of CC>CC to vote on
and give each individual member their voice in the issue as to whether
or not Chapter Members should be members of the CC>CC. This proposal
allows for Chapters to have members who are not members of CC>CC for a
period of one (1) year after which time that member must become a member
of the CC>CC.

Here is the proposed Amendment in it's entirety.

ARTICLE FIVE: MEMBERSHIP

Section 1

Membership shall consist of five types of members:

A. Charter Members: the first 100 persons applying for regular
membership into the Club;

B. Regular Members: all members applying for membership after the
Charter Membership period has closed;

C. Associate Members: spouses and/or children residing at the same
address as a Regular or Charter Member in good standing;

D. Life Members: members in good standing who apply, after completion
of their third full year of membership for permanent membership status,
and whose applications are accompanied by payment of an amount equal
to 15 years' dues. Life Members are relieved from paying further annual
dues; and,

E. Chapter Member: Any group of collectors of casino chips, tokens and
other casino or gaming collectibles may join to form a Chapter of the
Club, based on such geographical boundaries or other criteria as may
benefit the group. Chapters may be city-wide, region wide, state-wide,
multi state or international in scope.

1. Members of a Chapter need not be Club members when they join a
Chapter, but they must be Club members within one year of their joining
any Chapter, and thereafter must be Club members whenever they are
Chapter members. Current Chapter members who are not members of the
Club have one year after passage of this amendment to become members
of the Club.

(a) All members of a Chapter shall be aware of and subject to the
Club's Code of Ethics and Bylaws, which the Club has final authority
over administering and which the Chapter's will accede to.

2. Chapters shall be organized by following the prescribed manner
outlined in the bylaws under Chapters.
