Re: More on CJ mold?

Yes Jim, I have thought about it, but it comes down to a matter of time.

I did not take the time to tell the whole story of the demise of CJ. Here is a little more.

A guy by the name of Sullivan was the office manager at CJ in LV. He was a protege of Bill Christy. Bud Jones ran the Kansas City office. Bill & Bud was 50-50 partners. Sullivan raised profits in LV by a big number. Due mostly from making "Hot" dice. This fact was hidden from BJ.

Bud Jones has more integrity than any man I have ever met in the casino supply business. Bill talked BJ into each one of them giving Sullivan 1% for the great job he was doing in LV. In effect this gave Bill a 51% edge in voting the business. BJ was irate when the FBI raided the LV office. As a minority owner (only 49%), he saw his only way out was to disolve the CO. That is what he did. I don't think he got a penny out of it.

BJ started the Nevada Dice Co in 1965 and hence the Dice Card mold and later the Nevada mold was born.

Little known facts: BJ designed and sold the HHL mold. BJ hot stamped some arrowdie chips for Tommy Haines. Slim Ewing did some others for Tommy. BJ sold the FQ's the arrowdies they opened up with in 1966. Tommy had already quit the business. The chips were already run and BJ got a good deal on them.

I have pleaded for old records. BJ subscribes to the old theory that a man that purchases casino supplies is entitled to privacy. It is only since LE's came along that information has become a little more available to us.

BJ has sold out. I intend to renew my plea for old records with the new owners.
I know there is a ware house. I know very few people are allowed in it.

I do not know if BJ or Paul-Son has the CJ records but I believe they exist.
Outside of BC Wills UFC's, I think there are as many HHL UFC's as any other mold.
