THe first thought that comes to mind is the Salt Lake City show being held this year in March, by the ANA (not the ANA Convention; that's this Summer in Atlanta). We've been invited by the ANA to participate in their early-Spring convention in the past, so I see no problem there should we be interested on a local level, except for the facts Archie has mentioned numerous times: that it's easy to dream up these ideas, but who is willing to help staff the tables. This is where I feel there may be some room for our chapters to get involved and expand. We've done it in Florida, so I know it can be done.

Just last year club Vice-President Ken Hallenbeck announced to the entire membership in our magazine that past April 16-22, was National Coin Week's "Discover America!" He suggested that perhaps our chapters could get involved by simply displaying a poster or brochure, or even a small exhibit in a local bank, store or shopping mall for that week.

The Long Beach Coin & Collectibles Expo would also be good exposure for us in the West.

Local and International coin clubs who have shows are in PA, NY, MD, CT; MS, TX,TN; LA, MI, MN, OH; WI,IL, AZ, OR, and ID. These are listd in "The Numistmatist" magazine that's mailed to us as an ANA member (I don't know which club officer receives it).

The Texas Numismatic Association's 43rd Annual Convention in Ft. Worth wouldn't be a bad place to pop in on this May...and our neighbors to the north may want to check out the Calgary Numismatic Society. The Missouri Numismatic Society has several educational activities scheduled from time-to-time, as well as the Pasadena (Texas) Coin Club who has an excellent YN (Young Numismatist) program.

There is so much we can do by just getting involved...and I know it can be done with a simple phone call to any local coin club or show organizers/promotors.
