and I agree .... but without the campaigning for individual chips. Let's allow the judging committee to decide the winner through the ballot box. Last year's committee consisted of 100 judges, all of whom had submitted nominations.

I recall one year when a Golden Goose chip was being solicted by one west coast chipper who was attempting to align other chipper friends to vote for a chip that wasn't even issued that year. In fact it was issued a dozen or more years earlier, but had recently been discovered that year. Quite a few nominations were submitted for that chip by those who were solicited to do so.

So, let's keep the contest on the up and up so that the eventual winner is truly deserving of the honor and presitge that goes with the COTY title. I have no objection to individual attractive chips being posted on thechipboard.com for consideration. But to declare them the obvious winner, before seeing the top ten nominees, is premature in my opinion. Woldn't you agree?
