In 1968, Stanley Kubrick directed a great science fiction movie. It was
called "2001: A Space Odyssey." The plot of the movie revolved around the
search for a mysterious, obviously artificial object. Well, it's now 33
years later, and as chip collectors, who knew how much we'd all be searching
for these "mysterious, obviously artificial objects."

This brings me to the subject of this post...new VERY limited editions
from the Silver Smith and State Line in Wendover. These two casinos continue
to issue some of the smallest number of LE's in Nevada. Here is the latest.

Going back the theme of the movie, both the Silver Smith and State Line
issued 2001 New Year's chips called "Space Odyssey 2001." The Silver Smith
issued only 170 $5 chips. That is certainly among the smallest (if the THE

The State Line also issued "Space Odyssey 2001" chips. There were 330

Just before the end of the 2000, the State Line issued 300 $5 chips for
their Mayflower Festival. It was another of the popular Asian festivals held
