bernie...Like many of the other contributors to this board on this issue, you may be missing the point. The club is not prohibiting slabbing, nor is any opponent of slabbing seeking to impose a general prohibition that goes beyond the jurisdiction of a private club. What the opponents seek to do is merely regulate what happens on club premises during club functions. That is this club's right. A member may do what he wishes on his own time, and anywhere else, but not on the club's premises if it violates a club rule. I have belonged to clubs that had rules I disagreed with, but I followed them because they were the rules.. The issue here is what the club wants to do on its premises and as part of its functions. Let the process go forward and the majority rule on this issue. I for one am opposed to the whole slabbing concept and will not partake in that funtion no matter what. However I will adhere to the mandate of the club going forward and coexist if that is necessary. Make no mistake, we do not seek to prohibit anyone from doing anything one wants to do on ones own.
