Bruce & Donna,

First of all, I am not a member of the CC-GTCC. So much for my credibility. In any event, here's my 2 cents worth.

About point #2. When you are a collector of anything that is is used, buy it because YOU LIKE IT, but ALWAYS buy your "example" in the best condition you can afford. It is NOT A SIN to want your collection, or individual examples" to appreciate in value. The higher grades of anything in used condition, will almost always be more desirable, thereby typically easier to sell to others. Who knows when you may want to sell or trade a particular chip, to finance the purchase of one you want even more.

The last part of #5. There is nothing wrong with obtaining an UNBIASED professional opinion of the condition, and sometimes even the value of your chip, coin, dice, firearm, or whatever. Some statements made on this board would have you believe that most or all professional appraisers are somewhere between invalid and downright fraudulent. In my humble opinion the condition evaluation of 10 accredited professional appraisers will almost always be more cosistent than 10 "self accredited" collectors, with their natural biased opinions of their own items. Anything "used" only has a subjective value. In other words, it's not worth what you want for it, it's worth what you can get for it. But only for that one individual item for that one individual change of ownership sale.

OK everyone, the target is on my backside, fire away. I'm done, where's the fork. Merry Christmas, Happy Hannakuh, and etc.

Regards,

Roger
