Re: Archie, Don't Worry About It!!!!

Jim,

My point is that I see nothing wrong with the two
or three active chip dealers in our club who are
also very active coin dealers being permitted to
show some coins and numismatic tokens in their
display cases at the convention.

I'm not speaking for any of these dealers, and all
I'm saying is I see nothing wrong with it.

I've not mentioned outside coin dealers who wanted
tables at our convention. In fact, what Archie
mentioned above is news to me.

I'm not a coin dealer. At one time I collected
common date US Gold (25-years ago), and about
10-years ago I exported rare French coins back to
France that were brought home my US Soldiers after
WWI. I would send them coins; they sent me plaques.
Simple.

I'm not interested in slabs or slabbing, and I do not like
to see any collectore being deprived of collecting
chips that are totally legal to collect.

Regarding your objection to chips being slabbed and
being the downfall of our hobby, I feel you do not
have a case to present because you do not have fact
one (evidence) of any slabbed chip causing any
problem to any chip collector. All I hear is
Sportscards and Coins, but there are tens of
thousands (maybee even a million) of them. We're
only about five or six thousand strong (2500 club
members) and I think the majority of chip collectors
could give a hoot less about slabbing.

Chips will continue to perform well. Low end
material will always be available. Nobody is going
to buy up a current live inventory and slab it. I
need proof of a downfall of our hobby. If someone
can show me this, then I'll show you what I can do
to also help stop those who will harm us. Is this
fair?
