Very unusual plaque.

Unusual because we do not know of any other casino in the world to have this type of construction that I coined Paper-wrapped Pastboard when I first located them in 1991.

Though carton plaques are known with laminated litho surfaces, this type of constuction has not yet been found anywhere else.

The obverse is wrapped around the edge and covers about a 1/4" surface on the reverse. Then, the reverse (similar to the liner of a phonograph record jacket) is pasted over the surface to about 1/16" of the edge.

The overall size is 150x100mm (6"x4"). Also know is a 100.000Bef measuring 109x159; golden color.

Though Casino de Dinant opened in 1929, we doubt that this piece was used back then, as the denomination would have been too high. It's believed that they're circa 1950s, for we just about know of all the other different issues used at Dinant during previous years.
