Re: London Clubs, LTD
In Response To: Really old London Club chips ()

a/k/a London Clubs International.

Legalization of casino gambling in Great Britain was
in 1960. The British Gaming Board was established
in 1968 under the Gaming Act of 1968. There were
more than 120 casinos flourishing in London, alone,
while the rest of the UK boasted more than 1,200
casinos. Thus all the unatributed early Huxley
jetons and plaques with names and initials unknown
to us.

British law required that all obsolete gaming chips
and plaques be destroyed by incineration, and they
tolerated no exceptions (of course some did make it
out the back door). I have documentation on the
number of chips and plaqures destroyed by certain
groups when casinos transfered; changed names, and
inventory changed.

As Travis noted: many of the poker chip codes were
still being manufactured well into the 1930s.
