Initially, I thought it would be easier to cut and paste the pictures that I already had on my computer, than set everything up on the scanner, scan, re-order, scan again, etc until I got a pleasing collage. The cut and paste does not have smooth edges, but after thinking about it, I would do it this way again. Some of the items do not scan well (ashtrays) and for some items, I reduced the size of the image (cards).
If my auctions had a few chips, I would scan the group. But when it comes to many items up for auction, I think cut and paste is easier. It did not take me too long, but probably could have been neater.
I wish that the photo/image softwares would have a circle select instead of just two choices of rectangle or free form. That would make working with chip images much easier!
