What an Experience - Hard Rock

I spent my Thanksgiving in Las Vegas this year with some family and friends. We all flew out and stayed at the MGM, had a great time and even won some money, couldn't believe it.

But on this trip I new I was going to be hooking up with a few chippers I've met on the board. I also new that Hard Rock was going to release their Rock - N - Rods set. Keeping in touch with The General he had informed me of the release date for the set.

I arrived at 8:30 to Hard Rock, because I was informed to be there by nine to get in line. :) I played a Little Betty Boop, some silver striking and cashed in my winnings and was ready to get in line. Now I've never been to a chip release date, had no idea what I was getting into. The knowledge I had was from this board and the rest was play it by ear.

By 9:am when I got in line there was probably 10-15 people already in line. I found Chuck Smorse to be one of them. Finally got to meet up with the guy after talking to him online for over a year. He was able to point out many more of you fellow chippers that I now have faces to go with the names. It was great to meet many of you that were close by, sorry I didn't meet the rest, didn't want to lose my place in line. :) By openning I would estimate a hundred or so in line, and by openning my place in line went from 10-15 to more like 30. :) But there were plenty of chips to go around.

And that line didn't go around once, but twice, and by the third go around I'd say half were gone.

Again I've never bought chips from the cage, the ladys working the cage were very nice, I think the people in line were in a little hurry. Twice I was practicly pushed out of the way before I even got my chips.

Some interesting things for us rookie chippers I found, was the CD case was given and then the chips, the chips were not in the case, chances are many of us rookies wouldn't have noticed they weren't even in the case. But a watchful eye figures it out. I also found just the amount of people to be terrific, it's nothing like I imagined.

Because of the limit of 5 sets, many had to go through the line numerous times to get the number of sets required for there collectors and friends. I won't go into the previous arguments about the limits and such, it's to complicated for me. :)

Now as for future releases I'll be back. :) It was a great time for me and I hope to do it again on my next visit.

Thanks
Eric Chizum
