Re: Die Swirl
In Response To: Re: Another New Mold - Maybe ()

The Die Swirl was originally made at The Burt Co in Maine. After 1988 it was made at Atlantic Standard in Maine. The mold has always been owned by the Distributor, Midwest Game Supply in Kearney, Mo. Distributors own molds but do not actually make chips in most cases. TR King is one exception (Large and Snall Crown). The distributor can move their mold to different manfacturers. For instance, The Marion Co in Miami just moved the Elephant/Crown mold from Atlantic Standard to Taiwan.

Taiwan has been "Knocking Off" many of the molds.

Chipco's Unicorn mold is being made by them in Maine but is also being made in Taiwan. The Taiwan one is slightly different as the unicorn is deeper and a little more distinct, but still hard to tell the difference.

I am not as yet sure who is making the 6 dice mold. I am guessing RT Plastics in LV or maybe it is made in Taiwan. I will find out from GGS if RT is making it.
