In a conversation with another chipper yesterday, I learned that at least some casinos have available to them computer images of foreign chips to use in determining the validity of chips they take in. This was reported in use at Stratosphere a year or so ago. I'd be interested in hearing more about this from someone in the know. Is it maintained by the 'chip clearing house' that exchanges chips between clubs?

Wonder how far back this goes, as it might be useful in dating or at least validating some older Las Vegas chips.
