Re: Check this scam for a $500 "The Mint"

Unfortunately, there are many sellers of these fantasy chips that do the same thing as this guy. However not quite as obvious. The scan is bad on purpose of course. He covers himself by stating the date through 1988. He does not make any claim as to the actual age or value of the chip. His defense would obviously be that the true value of anything is what people are willing to pay. While I will always stand up for a person's right to ask any price they want for anything, I believe there should also be honesty in advertizing. I used to set up at the Louisville Flea Market and sold the fantasys for $2 each or 3 for $5. I also had a sign on the case stating they were fantasy chips, but a lot of people still thought they were real. Obviously most of my buyers were not club members or knowledgable. Just people who thought they were cool which is fine. Heck I have 1 of each for the same reason:)
