S.S. Monte Carlo (Ship)

Well I had another slow day so I hit a few more of the Antique Stores. I found this old matchbook from the S.S. Monte Carlo. On the reverse side it says, in bold letters, "CRAPS - ROULETTE - TWENTY-ONE - LOTTERY - STUD POKER. Just above the striker it says, "US Pat No.1,733,258 PAT'D in CANADA 1929 LION MATCH Co, NY, made in USA. The Spring Issue,(April, May, June) 1999 Volume 12, #2 of Casino Chip and Token News has an article by Ernest Marquez on page 34 that tells about this ship and others that operated off the coast of California from 1927 to 1939 and again in 1946.
