Three China Dimes

If you collect older Reno Chips or maybe just 10c chips from anywhere, you might like to take a look at the three chips pictured below. For a while, there were only two varieties of the dime from the New China Club in The Chip Rack. Even those cause confusion sometimes because no one is sure exactly what color salmon is. I've seen the red on listed as the salmon color in several dealers books. The comparison below might be useful to tell these apart if your run across them in the future. By the way, James' book hasn't listed the red variety yet.

A horse of another color is the chip at the bottom. It's a completely different design and one I didn't know existed till about a year and a half ago. The chinese characters on it match those on a couple of the other small crown fractionals that were used at the same time. The reverse has only the denomination, 10c, on it. This is a very tough chip to find and I was without it for several years. Finally saw the chip at a chip show, but the one offered was mutilated. Got lucky and found two nice ones recently. James lists this one as a Rarity 9: 4-7 known.

I'm listing my duplicate of the rare dime on eBAy this week. Take a look!
