I hate to disagree with such a noted authority as Doc Myers, especially since it's such a nice story, but the information I've received about this chip is very different. Chip was produced in the late '70s and was used as a lammer. By the way, Dennis, is the current owner of Artichoke Joe's so if you want to get your chip autographed, stop by some time. His grandfather founded AJs in 1916 and his father, who had the chips made, owns the Artichoke Joe's in Carson City.
