Help; Insurance Vaulation Needed.

I have subjected this check to the expert examination of a local printer, who is of the opinion that instead of white, a yellow colored inlay was used. White has to be the color of the correct inlay, because white appears on normal checks of this issue. Since you cannot mix red, green, yellow and black (the four process colors) to get white, white can only be achieved by letting it show-through where no ink is used. Since the error side shows-through as yellow, where white should be, then the stock used for the inlay started off as yellow. This would also explain why the denomination color is orange, instead of red; red ink applied to yellow stock will yield orange.

I have decided to let others (chipping community) examine this, so far, one-of-a-kind find. However, I need assistance in determining an "insurance value" for mailing. According to records, this 4th Birthday (anniversary) check, released in 1994, was limited to 2,000. Of those 2,000 only this one appears to have the error. If it really is a one-of-a-kind error, what value should I place on it when mailing it to others? Your opinions (and comments) are requested.

Thank you,

Jim Follis
