More of: No problem, I still like the idea

(1) More about Greg's comment about outdated listings not being removed by the lister. The Club could charge 5 or 10 cents per listing per quarter, or whatever. That alone would be an impetus for a member to do his duty in removing obsolete listings!

(2) I made a more persuasive post on the Club board about this idea of mine. You might want to see it in full at:
http://www.ccgtcc.com/cgi-bin/mb/config.pl?read=4623

I put here what is different in the Club BB post from what I posted on this BB. It is a good illustration of what my idea will look like. Notice how simple the listing are -- no pictures to take up globs of computer bytes:

"Suppose you wanted to buy a particular chip, or saw one offered by a dealer or on eBay? The seller calls it "rare." You
wonder. You know that price guides often have inflated prices, that most of the common chips, in particular, are offered
for less than "book value," and you know that boxes of erstwhile rare chips are always showing up. Wouldn't you like to
know what a chip is generally being sold for NOW? Wouldn't you like to see a list like this with current prices, condition
and links to e-mail address of the sellers?:
N6783 $10 B+ John Jones
N6783 $12 B+ Joe Smith
N6783 $15 A Mary Doe
N6786 $27 C Tim Tyler
N6788 $50 B Sam Spade

I suggest the officers of this Club start working on this immediately. The idea, when implemented, would make the Club
site the most used and useful chip site around. Our officers should find programmers (even pay them) to set this up, and
they should get permission (I assume it is needed) from the authors of chip guides to use their chip ID numbers (I think
they should agree since the site will spur sales of their books. After all, the site is worthless without the book.)."

Instead of separate classified ads or 1/8th page ads or full page ads, etc., I am proposing one giant, inexpensive, extremely useful, on-line intermingled ad for the Club members.
