Re: WAIT - There's more to be done.

Hi Jm - First let me say thanks for sending me a printout of those Florida members who have not renewed their membership.

Regarding the International mailing of our club magazine: As you know I've been having ex-member Marc-André Reynckens' - Leige, Belgium, magazine mailed to me along with my copy; then sending him his. Prior to the change of address for Marc-André's magazine, he, too, either never received his magazine or would eventually receive it 10 to 12-weeks late. Yet, when I would send Marc-André his magazine and numerous other mailings of the same type, size and weight (year-after-year)...he would receive it in less than 10-days. Numerous exchanges between Archie, James Harpp, Marc-André and I were fruitless...especially ater Archie's remarks to Marc-André: "Check with your local post office." That's when I called James Harpp to learn that the publisher was not sending the magazine correctly and it was being returned (per James). I asked my local postmaster who has been on the job for 25-years, and she said that this is probably true and that depending on the mail sorter, there is a possibility that the piece is then treated as surface mail (boat) or "returned to sender" for the obvious reason. With Bob Hermans' last magazine not being received, I sent him mine and he received it in less than 10-days. Bob and I exchange numerous envelopes, books, magazines and "some other stuff" all within 10-days. I've made this suggestion on our BBS the last time this happened: "Foreign mailings should receive special attention to see that it is 'prepared' and mailed properly." Bob Hermans is not the only person reporing the problem of 10-week delivery. If I'm able to send Bob the magazine within 10-days, I should think whomever is sending Bob his magazine should be able to do the same. Discussions that Bob should pay extra to recive his magazines doesn't cut it. The club needs to follow through to see that those who are paying for "First Class" postage receive it.

Thank you,

JB
