I would expect any club-sanctioned auction to meet the absolute highest standards of honesty and fairness. And I'd be the first to complain -- or even interfere if necessary -- if one didn't.

BTW, I don't have an "overall" disdain for eBay's rules. I am a regular buyer and think most of the rules are both fair and appropriate. I happen to disagree with their tolerance of fraudulent and misreprentative auctions (a subject I will adress further in response to your other post on this issue).
