I believe that the club should be involved in saving the old records and that
each potential has to be evaluated on its own merits. I don't believe that club
dues should be utilized for this purpose. Currently club dues barely pay for the
club magazine and that is what most members get out of their membership to date.
Old records are of interest to a select group and the funding for old records should come out of incremental funds, ie: profit from the convention, sales of
club merchandise, fund raisers etc...this is the incremental monies that should
be used for the educational benefit of the club. Club dues are paid by all members and I believe that their dues should be utilized for the running of the
club. If there are opportunities to provide greater benefits to membership in the
club and it will provide us with more reasons for a person joining the club, then
that is a benefical reason to raise club dues.
