I was kind of sorry to see The Chip Rack include the references to Types for the Harrahs brass core chips. I don't think many people other than Howdy Herz who made these up can distinguish much beyond the Serif and Sans-serif type faces. However, two people have asked about this on TCB in the last couple of weeks so I'll show a scan of the source of these types again. This is from the Herz Gaming Archaeology auction catalog #22 of June 1997. There are some REALLY good color pictures in this same catalog to help to distinguish many of the old Harrahs clay chips apart. I believe the catalog is still for sale from Howdy.
Check marks are for the chips I've found, incidently. In private conversation, Howdy has since said he has second thoughts about the existence of some of the types for some of the denominations in the original article ($2.50's for instance).
