Re: For TCR authors: a question & a suggestion

Allan,

Thanks for getting back so soon. I guess it's the dates that are bothering me. The "Holiday Inn Cas. Boardwalk" is shown with an opening date of 1995 and "no" for a closing date. I presume that means the listing is for a casino that opened (or started operating under this name) in 1995 and is still operating today. But the Boardwalk Casino that is there now dropped the name Holiday Inn a few years ago (for some reason I don't think it was 5 years ago) when Mirage Corp bought it (they still own it today and were, until recently, planning to level it and develop all the prime property it sits on).

If you follow the link below, you can see that Cheques In The Mail (a GREAT service, by the way) refers to the current house chips as being "new" in July of 98.

And here is something else I just noticed: look at the dates listed for the "Boardwalk Casino" (89-94) and the dates of the various chips from it. They range from 91-98, so something is weird right there.

I seem to remember that the property might have operated as the "Boardwalk Casino" BEFORE Holiday Inn bought it, so that may be something else that is throwing confusion into the mix.

Maybe someone else on this board (any locals?) could shed some light on when the property opened up, what it was called and the ownership chages over time.

Thanks again!

- Bob
