Funny isn't
In Response To: Subject: good story ()

A good story is one that will evoke a multitude of different responses.

After reading about the extraordinary efforts of how "those 18 boys reached their level of God's perfection", I thought back to a similar situation that occurred to me.

I have been athletic all my life, little league, ice skating, skiing, football, basketball, you name it. And I still play tennis 4 times a week. However, in all the baseball I've ever played, I never remember hitting a home run, except perhaps in stickball which really doesn't count. Anyway, I had recently joined IBM and was not well known at the time of the summer outing. I came up to bat with a couple of guys on base and decided to go for the fence, rather than for my usual base hit. I connected and sent the ball well over the outfielder's head. By the time the ball came back to the infield, I was already standing on home plate getting high fives. I finally got my home run and it was in front of my co-workers, all the branch managers and another layer of management above that. I could not have been any less thrilled then Shaya was.

Remembering that day, through Shaya's story, still gives me a thrill. Shaya and I got to hit out home runs and bask in the glory of the moment, have you?
