Hi Don,
No problem with your post, just wanted to clear up how many were seen here on the BB and how many I know are currently being offered. I really do not think this chip was on the tables all that long. The International was opened by Kirk Kirkorian on July 2, 1969. It, along with the Flamingo was sold to the Hilton chain sometime in 1971. I assume the chips were changed almost at once since there IS an International $5 with the Hilton mold. I know for sure BOTH of those chips were gone by 1974 (my first Vegas trip) so I'd say two years max for these chips. There seems to be many more of the $1 and 50 cent mates to this chip and my only explanation is that they were in use a bit longer than the $5 and were replaced later with the H-mold Las Vegas Hilton chips with the name International dropped. I do believe that when Hilton first took over they were calling the place the Las Vegas Hilton International, thus the $5 with the Hilton mold.
