Hi Ron,
Please don't make the mistake of throwing out the baby with the bath water. The Chipboard.com is a message board, no more, no less. I read it every day, often two or three times. But it is not an official anything of the club.
Because a few (relative to the membership) people choose to air their dirty laundry in public is not a reason to cross the club off your list. It's very much like a few rowdy fans at a Stanley Cup Champion Devils game (had to get that in). It is uncomfortable for those around, but has little to do with team or the game on the ice.
The club has it's own work. It's own successes, the convention being the most visible. There are probably a slew of other reasons to join and perhaps one of our club's board might actually enlighten you, here or by email.
I still go to hockey games. I will still be a member of the CC>CC. And, I certainly will still read Greg's board...every day! I just have to skip a few threads that I can do without.
BTW, yes, an argument that touches on price fixing is more relevant that just rankor, but in the scale of things it is a pimple on an elephant's butt. I do not begrduge the dealers what they make on new issues. I think they provide a great service. I don't care how they arrive at their pricing as long as I can live with it.
Sorry for the long post.
Looking forward to meeting you at the convention (hopefully).
Marty
