A month or so ago, on a day trip to Naples, Florida, I stopped in at Mike Ditka's restaurant for dinner. The manager said "The Coach" was off on a trip or out playing golf. My wife & I decided to have dinner, which was a big mistake. It was AWFUL & the bill came to $45 with the tip. I had a few chips that I carry in the car in the event I happen to meet someone who Gene might like to have an autograph of for his ever growing collection. The manager said that "The Coach" stops in every week & for me to just leave the chip & they would send it back to me with no charge. I left the obsolete chip & asked if "The Coach" would also sign one of the cards with a cartoon image of himself which they have at the joint. I got the 2 Round Robins today & an envelope postmarked from Chicago, with no return address. I opened it & there was the card signed by "The Coach" personalized to Gene. The chip was GONE! If anybody happens to run into Ditka, could you please ask him to return my chip?! What chuzpah!
