This is the only news I could find. Doesn't sound like it should have caused the spike in stock price, though.

McCoy as Vice President of Its Authentic Products
Subsidiary
LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 20, 2000--Paul-Son Gaming Corporation (NASDAQ: PSON), a leading manufacturer and supplier of table game equipment in the U.S., announced today that William B. McCoy, 55, a sales and marketing executive with 15 years experience in the playing card industry, has been named Vice President of Sales for Authentic Products, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Paul-Son Gaming Corporation. Authentic Products designs and markets non-gaming playing cards and non-gaming commemorative collector chips for the sports, entertainment and memorabilia markets.
Since 1997, McCoy has been a self-employed manufacturers representative. He was previously vice president of sales and marketing for Hoyle Products, Inc., with responsibility for sales, pricing, promotional and merchandising strategy.
From 1982 to 1997, McCoy was an executive with Hoyle Products as Merchandise Manager and Director of Product Planning and Development for playing cards.
