Re: Akeman Auctions Resume
In Response To: Re: Akeman Auctions Resume ()

I'd like to clarify something. Some where in this thread I read a reference to how much Bill must have paid for these chips. ? ? ? To the best of my knowledge, which is pretty great, Bill paid nothing for these chips. He doesn't even own them. Bill acted as go between seller & buyer for the transaction. Whether or not he was given any kind of finders fee, one can only speculate. He has been retained by the buyers on commission to apply his expertise, knowledge of the hobby, connections & experience to help market the chips. One critic made the observation that at the present price structure & rate Bill is making these chips available, it will take just over 200 years to sell them all. We can only wish Bill the best of luck in this endeaver. There's not many slots in the unemployment line for Ex Collectibles Magazine owners. Parting thought, if there's ever a Hall of Fame for this hobby, Bill is destined to be in it. He's definately had a very positive impact on it.
