Yes, Another all-time worst eBay ad

Duke,
Yes, I put in the correct link. I know that this auction wouldn't interest most of the casino chip collectors who use this board, but I felt it was a prime example of a rotten auction. I was too tired and annnoyed to go into details last night.

Here are some things wrong with the auction (actually, everything is wrong with it):

(1) the most annoying thing for me is the title with the words "Must S@@." This wastes my time. It really burns me up. Every time, lately, I see MUST SEE or L@@K, the lot turns out to be the least likely one I would want to see or look at. It is like stealing my time. Here there is nothing unusual to see. They are typical, common catalin chips.

(2) the "Nevada" remark implies that they were used as casino chips (very unlikely; and even if so, so what!).

(3) the turn-of-the-century remark is false. These catalin chips were probably developed about 1930-40-50.

(4) the price is a joke -- $30 minimum bid for 10 of these chips. About 5 years ago I was selling them for $25 per 100 (probably too low, even then). Today they seem to go for about $66 per 100.

(5) the other false remark in the ad is the "perfect for bakelite collectors." These chips are very common. No bakelite collector would give a hoot about 10 chips like these. They would want a set of 100 or 200 in a catalin rack.
