Seems like you and I are on the same wavelength! I'd bet our personal libraries contain some of the same reading materials.

(ALL) governments give their citizens certain symbols to either bond with and love, OR to direct our hostilities toward. As the citizens respond to these 'symbols', they (we) form our own groups and either love or 'hate' the other side. (Like someone once said, "We need more of "us" and less of "them" and then everything would be just fine. <<g>>)

The images that we are given by governments and the media pit us against our own friends and fellow citizens. By providing these polarizing images, we are distracted from the REAL cause of the problem(s). Jane Fonda didn't withhold airstrikes against the North, Jane didn't approve government contracts for weapons unsuited for jungle fighting, Jane's draft/selective service didn't pick 19 year olds (the average age of the America KIA) of primarily color and lower economic background. WHO DID? DUH...
