I can't tell you how much your post means to me. Law Enforcement Week has always been a difficult one for me.

My father was a law enforcement officer. He died in the line of duty when I was nine years old. Knowing that his name is on the memorial in Washington fills me with sadness and a sense of pride. My dad was a good, decent man and he died doing what he loved - serving the community that he grew up in; trying to make a difference in the lives of others. He was a hero.

I still miss him.
