Re: My First slot card, 1989
In Response To: First slot card? ()

My first slot card was from Harrahs in Reno, circa 1989. It's blue with red printing. It has keypunch holes instead of the magnetic stripes you see today. See my related article from CCGTCC Newletter from 1989.

I don't recall when the Frontier program started, but I had other cards from the Hilton and Landmark from the early 90's. My MGM-Sands paper intro card is date stamped from 1989. Can anyone date any clubs earlier?

If you want to get technical, Harrahs gave out Slot Points as bonuses for hitting jackpots. The tickets were like the old Golden Nugget tickets, but were issued in the 60s and 70s.

ROBERT PARDUE:
I would like a copy of your article when finished. Unfortunately I don't get the Club magazine any longer. Thanks, Larry
