While talking to a guy who lost his sight at the age of six (when he was about 35), he asked me what my job was at the place we met. It was a live music nightclub, and that night I was the lighting director. When I tried to explain the club light system using the word "color" in the descriptions, I lost him. He told me he lost all rememberance of color as a child when he lost his sight. ...my abnormal psyche classes in college explained in some ways how the human mind adopts to certain situations, but nothing I learned would explain loosing color completely if you had experienced it as a child. If one is born blind, (and I have a fairly active imagination) I can't imagine what dreams would be like.
