Notes from a week on a Chip Run

I was on spring break for the last week and spent most of the time traveling in Michigan and Indiana to casinos. All told, I traveled 2,687 miles(from my home in Atlanta and then back home) over the course of 4 days and visited 11 casinos. I won some and lost some but the winning outpaced the losing.

I started at Casino Windsor.
*****There was nothing new there. The $5 Millenium chips are not very easy to find. I only got 2 while playing craps for 2 hours. After asking each cashier for them, I was only able to come up with one more.

Then, on to MGM Grand(Detroit).
*****Nothing new. There are still plenty of the $5 Millenium chips on every table.

Then, on to Motor City(Detroit).
*****The $5 Grand Opening chips are still available and easy to acquire. They have replaced their 25 cent chips with a new rack that looks just like the other rack other than the new one has 3 brown inserts. I will post a picture later. I have a few extras to trade of both the Grand Opening and 25 cent chips.

Next was Soaring Eagle(Mt. Pleasant).
*****Nothing new.

Then, Little River(Manistee).
*****There were not any new chips there. They have one roulette table with 8 colors. I was able to get one complete set of roulettes. I have extras of the tan chip if anyone is interested. There is a ninth color for the table which is now obsolete. It is the hot pink chip shown in Greg's Chipguide. I have a few extras of this chip also.

Then, on to Leelanau Sands(Peshawbestown) and Turtle Creek(Williamsburg).
*****No new chips at either place. Both places use the same chips. The roulette tables use generic chips. The chips only say 'Roulette A', 'Roulette B', etc. The name of the casino is not on them. I did not pick any of them up. I found a silver strike machine at both places. There are 5 different designs. I was able to obtain 3 of the designs. Will post picture later.

Next, on to Indiana and the Blue Chip casino.
*****No new chips. They are still using the same chips they were using when they opened. You can still find their Grand Opening chip on the tables.

Then, over to the Trump and Majestic Star casinos.
*****Neither casino has any new chips. There are still plenty of the chips from the 13 chip set left on the tables at Trump. The Grand Opening chips can still be found on the tables at the Majestic Star.

Finally, the last stop at Harrah's Showboat(East Chicago).
*****Nothing new here. There are still Grand Opening chips available.

Chip runs are great and I look forward to my next one.
