Chip? Serious.

I do not run a new issue service for chips in Florida, however I sometimes manage to sail on the first "official" cruise that a boat makes. When I have that opportunity, I usually get chips that have never been used & come straight out of the box. I recently made a trade for some of the chips that I brought back from the Bahamia Casino, Freeport which have been on the tables for 3 months. I'm not knocking the trader, but I got an email this afternoon saying that the chips were "tableworn & had noticeable small nicks". I have those same chips already stored away in my collection. I immediately emailed the trader & offered to send him other chips & I would pay postage both ways. I forgot to note that I would also send him his chips back, which I have no problem doing if he was not satisfied. I guess my question is, "Are 'tableworn chips with small nicks' worth any less than chips straight out of the box? I have looked at the the remaining chips I have as well as the ones in my collection, & there are no nicks, gouges or dings. They were used on the tables.
