I read today in the LA Times of the death of Wayne McAllister at age 92. McAllister was the architect of the El Rancho Vegas, the Desert Inn, the Sands, the Fremont, the Horseshoe, and others. I had read a couple of years ago that he was still active and always meant to attempt a visit but never did.
