HGTV's interview with Dale Seymour - Tape & CD

At the Arcadia show last Saturday I gave a VHS tape (Unedited) of the entire HGTV collectible treasures show, which includes an interview of Dale Seymour. It was taped on SP in order to keep the quality of the video at a good level. I also gave Mr. Robert Pardue a copy of a CD that I made, which contains an edited show (intro, interview and show credits) in order to keep it on a single CD.

The CD is an AutoRun for a Windows platform. It will run the computers default web browser, and pull up a short web page showing a composite image I made of Dale Seymour and a few of the chips from his collection as well as a brief intro.. There are also options to view the interview by selecting either the mpeg or mov (QuickTime) formatted movies. I HIGHLY recommend that the MS Windows Media Player be used to view either movie file, as the codec that the QuickTime 4 player has (the windows version I have at least...), doesn't seem to want to play the mov file...???... (If you don't have MS Window Media Player, there is a link to the MS download area so you can download it and install it.)
From the web page, I would suggest viewing the mpeg, as a movie is loaded into the 'cache' or 'temporary internet file'. This is a good thing - normally, the mpeg file is over 83 MB, yet the QuickTime if just short of 400 MB!!! Most people may not have that much "free" space on their system...

There are also instructions (on another web page) illustrates how to run either the mpeg or QuickTime version using the MS Windows Media Player from windows - i.e. without the web page

There is also a readme web page that further shows how crazy I am, by giving some information about how I generated the CD, as well as how long the process took...

So the bottom line is that the people that requested that a someone tape the show, can now check out either the videotape or CD from the National Library.
For the folks in the So. Cal. Area, there is also a copy of the CD in the So. Cal. CC&GTCC library.

Enjoy...

Dick

P.S. My apologies to Mr. Pardue - as I just walked up to him, explained what I had, gave it to him, and walked away...
I should have introduced myself first... I guess I just wanted to get back to the chip fey!!! Sorry about that Robert!
