Katie, and all you other non Japanese folks:

1) Sashiimi is raw fish, most commonly tuna in Southern CA

2) Sushi is rice flavored with vinegar and sugar and formed,

It can contain vegetables or fish, cooked or not. Sometimes

the fish, etc. is placed on top. Sometimes it's in the middle

and wrapped in "nori" which is dried seaweed.
3) One of my favorites is Spam musubi, which is rice wrapped

around fried spam.
