Bud Jones is now in his 80's. I think he has been in the business since he was born. He was half owner of Christy Jones until 1965. He designed the hat & cane mold and horse head left mold. Maybe others. In 1965 he started the Nevada Dice Co and designed the Nevada and Diecar molds. All of the afore mentioned chips were actually made at Burt in Maine.
In the 70's he changed the name of the Co to the Bud Jones Co. He then came up with the idea of the coin inlay chip. He designed all of the machinery it took to make them. He also designed his own dice making process and machinery. I have been through the plant, it is amazing. Bud has a small share of the NV market for chips. Paul-Son is the king of NV. BJ has a very large share of the foreign market.
The plastis rings for the coin inlay chips are made in the midwest. They are shipped to LV and the coin inlays are inserted on Vally View Boulvard in LV.

Bud has more history in chips than any man alive.
BTW, I think the scanned chip is one of the higher priced coin inlays around. It is 1 of a 3 chip set that sold for over $1,300 last year. I found 12 sets. Not sure what Jerry Wall paid for them since they went through a middleman.
